We at SoCLA are saddened by the passing of The Hon. Robert Brooking AO KC on Sunday 11 September.
The Hon. Robert Brooking was a pioneer to the study and practice of construction law in Australia, dedicating his life to the law. He was an inspiration to all who met him, his sharp wit and insightful conversation will be missed.
The Hon. Robert Brooking retired in 2002 after serving as a judge for 25 years, in 2003 he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia "For service to the judiciary, particularly through the Victorian Court of Appeal, to the law in the areas of tenancy, building law and arbitration, and to the community". Robert has been a revered and integral part of the Society since our foundation in 2009.
He will be greatly missed by all of us and the Board extends their condolences to Robert's family and friends.
