The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is exploring new ways to support practitioners working in building and construction law, and is seeking feedback from the profession.
The LIV is consulting on two proposed initiatives: a Structured Training Course and an Accredited Specialisation in Building and Construction Law. Both would focus on residential and domestic building matters rather than commercial construction. The LIV has said this focus reflects a need for the broader community to be able to identify practitioners with specialist expertise in residential and domestic building law.
Practitioners who might be interested in undertaking the specialisation are invited to complete a short survey. The survey also contains more information about the proposed course and accreditation.
The survey closes at close of business on Friday 6 November 2026.
You are welcome to share the survey with colleagues who may be interested. Questions can be directed to Adam Di Trocchio, Section Lead, Property and Environmental Law, LIV, at aditrocchio@liv.asn.au.
