Co-Insurance: a Complete Defence for Claims by Head Contractors against Sub-Contractors?

This presentation will review recent cases concerning co-insurance in England and in Scotland including Gard Marine and Energy v. China National Chartering [2017] 1 WLR 1793 and SSE Generation v Hochtief Solutions [2018] CSIH 26, in particular the extent to which co-insurance potentially prevents claims by contractors against sub-contractors. Nick Longley is a Partner who advises on construction and construction insurance law, focusing particularly on arbitration relating to major infrastructure and energy-related projects.
