Governments are relying heavily on the construction industry to lead the economy out of recession but the industry is sick. Profitability is at an all-time low and productivity growth over the last thirty years trails that of other significant industries by 25 per cent. Women make up only 12 per cent of the construction workforce and construction workers are 6 times more likely to die from suicide than a workplace incident.

Could a global pandemic provide a long awaited catalyst for real and lasting change to how projects are procured and delivered?

The NSW Government wants your feedback on the proposed Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2020. 

The proposed Regulation forms part of the reforms introduced by the NSW Government to improve quality and compliance in Class 2 buildings, particularly high-rise apartments. It aims to strengthen accountability across the building design and construction industry.

Now is the time to have your say on the proposed Regulation by completing the survey

Member are also invited to provide their feedback to assist the Society in the preparation of a Submission.  Please provide your feedback by 4 January 2021.
