SoCLA Seminar - A Price on Carbon - Consequences for the Construction Industry

The Society is pleased to announce a forthcoming video seminar on carbon pricing.  The seminar, entitled 'A Price on Carbon - Consequences for the Construciton Industry', will take place on Wednesday 19 October 2011.  The seminar will be the next in our series of video seminars.  We will be linking Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and London.  The flyer in relation to the seminar can be found at A Price on Carbon.  The times for the particular locations are set out on the flyer.  This is an opportunity to develop an early understanding as to how this key development will affect our industry.

Case of Interest - Concurrency - City Inn doubted

Case of Interest - Prevention and Concurrency Revisited

Case of interest - Parent Company Loss - Woolcock Street distinguished

In Project Company No. 2 Pty Limited v Cushway Blackfords & Associates Ltd [2011] QCA 102 the Queensland Court of Appeal allowed an application by a contracting owner corporation to join its parent company which had in fact suffered the loss caused by negligent design of a switchboard.
